*Through Lothlorien Dog Services
Like most everyone else in the pet care industry, I have had dogs all my life (Laborador, Springer Spaniels, Border Collie and currently a Harrier Beagle) all of whom I've loved unconditionally.

It is my view that dogs should be treated and handled without force, fear or pain, and I sign up to that code with the Pet Professional Guild.

Under the guidance of Claire Staines at Lothlorien Dog Services I am immensely proud to have acheived creditation and the post-nominal title of Professional Canine Trainer - Accredited PCT-A through the Pet Professional Guild Credentialling Board , sharing this accolade with 35 others worldwide including many eminent dog trainers within the industry. The knowledge and skills required for this certification equips me to give your dog the best walking experience, from pick up to drop off.

All my training is currently conducted as a member of the Lothlorien team. There is a link below to Lothlorien should you require any training for you and your hound.

In addition to this, I am a proud member of the Pet Professional Guild - British Isles as a Pet Care Professional. I am a certified Pet Dog Ambassador Instructor and Dognostic Trickmeister trainee.

As a trainer with Lothlorien Dog Services   I help teach puppy classes, Focus workshops, Pet Dog Ambassador, Reactive workshops, Tricks, Loose Leash. Lothlorien also offers 1-2-1 training consultations, scentwork and several other worshops and classes based at the training centre in Linlithgow.

I am Canine First Aid certified with thanks to Kerry Rhodes of Rhodes 2 Safety . Although this is a certified course for looking after your own dog, it teaches skills and knowledge that may be required "in the field". I carry our first aid kit at all times rather than leaving it in the van so true first responders care can be given if required.

I am currently furthering my education, studying for a diploma in Canine Behaviour Consultancy through the Dognostics Career Center.
Responsibility, due diligence and ethics are core to what we do. I know how much my dog Junior means to me, and I have tailored my service around what I would expect for him.

Using GPS tracking on all dogs on all walks not only shows that I carry out my services as agreed, but also gives peace of mind that in the event your dog does go missing, we have the best chance of locating it as soon as possible. This is a risk as with any other regular dog walk(er), but it doesn't replace great recall and responsible dog walking.

Our longer forest adventure walk is geared to active dogs, and increasing the walk to transport ratio, which also enables us to travel well out of busy Edinburgh to quiet, safe forest walks. We can advise responsible walkers or pet service providers for younger, older, or less active dogs.

I am careful to maintain small groups of no ore than five dogs (six in emergencies), and ensure that they are well suited to the group, without incompatible play styles, an even temperement, but a good dollop of nonsense.

Transport crates have been custom built to be safe, secure and comfortable.

I hold fully comprehensive pet business insurance to cover any eventuality (and any neccessary vet fees).

Regular posts of pictures, videos and occasional live video feeds also help to give peace of mind that your best friend is enjoying quality walks and social interaction in an enriching environment (we will never post any images of your home).

I pick up poo for a living.
